Travel Health

Preparing for travel involves more than vaccinations alone. Our travel consultations are designed to ensure you’re appropriately protected and well-informed before your trip, taking into account your destination, itinerary, medical history, and individual risk factors.

Led by an experienced GP, appointments provide tailored advice on travel health, prevention, and vaccination planning. The aim is to help you travel with confidence, knowing that appropriate precautions have been considered in advance. Our clinic is based in Carshalton Beeches, serving patients across Sutton, Wallington, Banstead, and South London.

Travel Consultation - 40 minutes | £195

A GP-led travel health consultation to ensure you are appropriately protected for your trip.

Includes:

  • Review of itinerary and medical history
  • Individualised vaccination and prevention advice
  • Up to two prescription items

Please note: vaccines are administered separately following assessment and advice.

We recommend you book your travel consultation as far in advance of your holiday as possible to allow for arrangement of vaccine schedule.

Why book your travel health appointment privately?

NHS travel health services are limited and often unavailable at short notice. Many GP surgeries no longer offer travel vaccinations at all, and those that do frequently have long waiting times. Booking privately means you can be seen promptly, with enough time to complete any required vaccine courses before your departure.

Our travel health consultations are led by Dr Carrasco, an experienced GP who will assess your full itinerary, medical history, and individual risk factors — not just hand you a generic list of vaccines.

What does the consultation cover?

Your 40-minute travel health consultation includes a review of your travel itinerary and destinations, your personal medical history and any existing conditions, individualised advice on vaccines and preventative medication, malaria risk assessment and prescription where appropriate, and up to two prescription items.

Common travel vaccines we can advise on

Depending on your destination and itinerary, vaccines and preventative treatments we can advise on include Typhoid, Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Yellow Fever (certificate issued where applicable), Cholera, Japanese Encephalitis, Rabies, Meningitis ACWY, and malaria prevention tablets for high-risk destinations.

Not all vaccines are suitable for all patients — your consultation will always be tailored to your individual circumstances.

When should I book?

We recommend booking your travel health consultation as early as possible — ideally at least 6 to 8 weeks before departure. Some vaccines require multiple doses given weeks apart, and starting early gives you the best protection.

That said, if your trip is sooner, please still get in touch — we will always do our best to provide appropriate protection within the time available.

FAQs

Do I need a travel health consultation for every trip?

Not necessarily. If you are travelling to low-risk destinations with no specific vaccine requirements, a consultation may not be needed. However, if you are travelling to tropical, developing, or high-risk regions, a consultation is strongly recommended.

Are travel vaccines included in the consultation price?

Vaccines are administered separately and charged in addition to the consultation fee. We will advise you on exactly which vaccines are recommended and their costs at your appointment.

Can you issue a Yellow Fever certificate?

Please contact us to confirm availability, as Yellow Fever certification requires specific accreditation.

Do you prescribe malaria tablets?

Yes, where clinically appropriate following your consultation.
