Blood tests - FAQs
Do I need a GP Consultation before my test?
No. You can book a blood draw appointment directly without seeing a GP first. If you already know which test or profile you need, just let us know in the booking questionnaire or at your appointment. If you are unsure, contact the clinic and we can advise on the available testing options.
How much does a private blood test cost?
The blood draw appointment is £40 and takes around 10 minutes. Laboratory testing is charged separately, with the price depending on the profile or individual markers requested. Popular profiles start from £49.
How quickly will I receive my results?
Most standard blood tests and profiles are returned within 2 working days. Some specialist tests may take longer. Once your results are available, we will send them directly to you.
Can you arrange tests that are not listed on the website?
Yes. We work with Salient Bio and The Doctors Laboratory and can arrange a wide range of individual markers and bespoke blood-test combinations. If you need a specific test that is not shown on our website, please contact us and we can confirm availability and pricing.
Do I need to fast before my blood test?
Some tests may require fasting, while many do not. If fasting is required for the test you are having, we will let you know before your appointment.
Why do tests including potassium need to be booked after 1pm?
Samples that include potassium, such as kidney function tests, need to reach the laboratory within the required timeframe. For this reason, we ask patients having these tests to book after 1pm so the sample can be sent to the laboratory promptly.
Do you offer blood tests for children?
Yes. We offer blood testing for patients aged 10 years and over.
What happens if my blood test results are abnormal?
Your results will be sent directly to you once available. If you would like medical advice or interpretation of the results, you can book a GP consultation with Dr Carrasco to discuss them in detail and decide on any appropriate next steps.
